Our Collection Methodology
A simple method for the collection of ground-dwelling insects and other animals is the pitfall trap. We buried some plastic buckets level with the ground, and covered them so rain could not get inside. At night animals would fall into the pitfall traps. We would check the traps in the morning to see what was inside. Here are some of the unique animals found in our pitfall traps.
