Welcome to the Blog!

Hello, and welcome to the blog of the Upendo Conservation Area. In this blog, we hope to communicate about topics of interest to three groups: (1) the conservation committee
managing the Upendo Conservation Area, as well as the surrounding communities, (2) those in Kenya that have an interest in conservation, and (3) broader constituents across the globe that want to learn about how conservation is being practiced in the Upendo Conservation area, and those that might want to partner with us.

My name is Jonathan Twining, and I am a partner working directly with Silas Wekesa Muchenje and the Upendo Conservation Committee. My role is to help with species identification, monitoring techniques, management goals, and development of training materials. I am also the creator of this website on behalf of the committee. I will be writing many of the blogs here, along with my colleagues Caleb and Makayla Johnson. We also hope to incorporate items of interest from Silas and the committee as they are able to contribute.
Thank you for your interest in the Upendo Conservation Area, and we hope you like the content of our blog. Let us know what you think. We would love to hear your comments.
